It is such a blessing that as a music teacher I can say I am degreed, certified to teach music K-12, and continue to enjoy a professional playing career. When you take lessons at one of my locations (Illinois or Wisconsin) near Antioch and Gurnee, everything you need is on site including music and supplies along with comfortable waiting areas. You can also see studio services and prices at; BRASS LESSONS

I also offer bi-annual optional recitals, the ability to record, and the opportunity to play-along with other students.

Small Ensemble Lessons

Small ensemble lessons are ideal for students looking to increase their confidence in small group playing, especially with regards to pitch, rhythmic accuracy, and ensemble balance. Small group lessons are also an option for students that are on a waiting list for lessons. Just as private lessons, group lessons are a stress free fun environment in which they can learn about music as well as interact with other interested music students. Group lessons are offered in six week semesters starting in January, April, and September. Each class is an hour long and consists of between 4-6 students with similar musical levels. Beginner and intermediate/advanced level classes are both offered depending on enrollment. Beginner classes will focus on technique, note reading, ear training, and duet and group playing. The intermediate level class will continue the student’s music education while adding more repertoire based on the interests of the students. End goal is to start or develop students in their musical interests in a non-traditional setting. Although group participation requires a certain amount of input from every member, no students are forced to perform in front of others if they do not want to. Group lessons are designed to be a safe place for beginner and intermediate students to learn and have fun with music.

Ensemble Coaching

All Brass is happy to offer ensemble coaching. As an active band clinician, music director, chamber musician, and contemporary worship team member, I feel very blessed to pass on my knowledge to other groups interested in improving and gaining insight on what to do to sound even better. Rates are the same as for lessons, but they are divided up evenly by the band. Coaching can be done at your usual rehearsal location or one of my teaching locations.

All Brass Boot Camp

The ABBC is helpful to any brass student that wants an extra 'push' in their playing, especially over summer. With both middle school and high school sessions, the All Brass Boot Camp (ABBC) is a chance for brass students from area schools to keep the horn 'on the face' during summer, as well as focus on sound, breathing, intonation, and sight reading. There are both middle school and high school sessions. The time commitment is two hours per day for 6 days straight. If students aren't able to make all 6 sessions, that's ok! As long as they can make most sessions the ABBC should be helpful. Also, there is a short concert at the end of the camp where the students get to show off their sounds!

$140 per student for entire week

2 hour long sessions

6 sessions total plus concert

Camp size maximum is 25

College Prep

For those students who are planning on making a career out of music and are thinking about auditioning for college music programs, I am happy to steer them in the right direction. Being a professional musician and having college teaching experience I’ve been able to assist students to audition and be accepted at major universities. I know what it takes to get into a good school and can show you how to get there. At the end of your college prep session a college audition tape will be recorded with you. Pricing is the same as normal private lessons, but it is recommended that students study with the instructor more often.
